Capital Soundcheck

Press and photo passes

Working with us

For publicists, labels, management, venues and tour managers: what we ask for, how we shoot, and what you get back.

What we ask for

One photo pass per show, in the photographer's name, JP Coakley. Pit access for the first three songs when the room has a pit; otherwise a spot at the soundboard or in the balcony. Will call pickup is fine. If the show is reviewed as well, we will say so in the request.

How we shoot

  • First three songs, no flash, unless the tour says otherwise.
  • One photographer, one camera bag. No tripods, no lights, no video.
  • We leave the pit when the third song ends and do not shoot the rest of the set without an OK.
  • We never post the pass, the wristband or the approval email.

What you get

  • A credited gallery on this site within 48 hours of the show, and the link in your inbox.
  • Up to five frames the artist can post on their own channels with a credit line, at no charge.
  • No resale, no stock licensing, no commercial use of the photographs. Editorial only.

Photo agreements

Send the tour's photo release ahead of the show and we will read it and return it before doors. We sign agreements that confirm the rules above and that grant the artist non-exclusive use of the frames with credit. We do not sign copyright transfers, and we keep the right to be credited.

Requests and listings

Email press@capitalsoundcheck.com with the artist, the date and the room. Two weeks ahead is ideal; a week is usually enough. We confirm within a day, and we are glad to hear about shows you would like covered.
